FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The world of art needs your talent
Reno, Nev. –
The world is in need of new, aspiring artists of all kind to create new works and show off their talents to the rest of their communities. Until Dec. 13, 2018, the Nevada Museum of Art is giving high school and middle school students the chance to do just that.
Since 1999, the museum of art has been playing an active role in encouraging students to follow their passion for all forms of creativity by co-hosting the the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. In the 2018 competition, 350,000 works of art and writing were submitted from students all over the country, with 2,200 of those coming from just Northern Nevada alone.
“We believe that encouraging students to cultivate these skills creates innovative thinkers for the future,” says Amanda Horn, the director of communications for the museum.
This contest is meant to push students to their limits by having them compete for a spot in the national competition where their creations will be considered for a place next to the most outstanding works in the nation. For seniors, this competition can also help ensure their future success by providing them a chance to earn scholarships through their portfolios.
Now is the time to put your talents to the test, and show off to your fellow students and the rest of the world what you’re capable of creating. Enter the competition today by following the instructions at https://www.artandwriting.org/affiliate/NV001A/.
